I wish to put a proposal on the table for you to consider, that runs counter to prevailing social (and often so-called spiritual) notions: understood properly, separation is a good thing. In fact, it is the hallmark of mature discernment. Immature discernment leads you into the mush of “we are all connected” or “we are all One.” It sounds nice, and from a certain perspective in consciousness, could be described that way, but in practice it rarely leads to clear and conscious outcomes.
Usually the first step for healthy and energetically fruitful connections — to whomever or to whatever — is to separate from low vibrational or dark energies. Both within yourself and reflected in the “outside” connections that you create. Who wants or needs more low vibrational, unhealthy, extractive, or degrading “connection”?
Well, some do as there are beings of many sorts that feed on those lower vibrational energies. But from the perspective of a high vibrational being or someone interested in soul ascension and sovereignty, there’s no value.
So before you embark on “new” or “more” connections, which I often hear as needed or desirable, I suggest that you embark upon a journey (inner and outer) of separation. Metaphorically, remove the weeds and poison ivy from the garden before planting your vegetables. Otherwise, the fresh new seedlings will be shaded by the weeds and you’ll get poison ivy rashes every time that you go out to harvest. Get the idea? Separate, then connect and create.
